- - - fashion sense, At first glance, Jacob looks like he could twenty-five. His physique is terribly deceiving: he had a wingspan that is almost as long as he is tall. He has muscles protuding from almost every area of his body, but is very gentle and conscious of the space he takes up. His smokey hair barely touches above his browline, but misses his long hair that just barely swept his shoulders, because he kept growing it out because he thought Bella liked it. Jacob is very conscious with his appearance: he knows that his size makes most people do a double-take, and absolutely loves it.
As far fashion stretches, his wardrobe is very limited, despite protests from the pixie bloodsucker. He prefers tee-shirts and mesh shorts, as they are more convenient when he has to take off at a moment's notice. his presentable attire does not fare much better: usually clean, loose polo shirts and a nicer pair of jean shorts and flip-flops make up his formal outfits. The last time he was in a tuxedo was at Bella's wedding; he doesn't get dressed up for just anyone, and likes to remind people of it.

Jacob Ephraim Black has seen and endured a lot in his short sixteen years, making him almost twice as young as most average sixteen year olds. His trials and tribulations that came with becoming a shape-shifter, losing one love of his life to a mortal enemy, only to be replaced with the object of his permanent affection is enough to have left anyone's head spinning. Amidst all of the confusion, there are a handful of dominating traits that draws you to Jacob Black.
- - -impulsive, Jacob has a tendency to allow his emotions to react for him. He's has considerable control over himself when it comes to his temper, but when something really gets under his skin he is very impulsive and can be quite unpredictable. In some ways, he can be described as a mortal version of Edward Cullen, seeing as his impulses are usually severe overreactions.
- - -loyal, It should be expected for what he is. Jake is a fiercely loyal friend and would die for a friend, sometimes quite literally. Far too many times has Jake laid his own life down on the line for Bella, for reasons of his owns. Moreover, he is willing to endure enormous quanities of pain if it means that he can bring happiness in someone else's life. Being temporarily immortal, this makes him a little smug, but all the more loyal because it means he is able to do certain things that could kill most people.
- - -passionate, When Jake has a cause, you'd better best believe he's got heart behind it. Incredibly thick-skinned and hard-headed, you could drop a safe on him and he would still keep going to achieve what he's set out to do. Jacob is also passionate in the sense of his ability to harbor enormous amounts of love for a number of people. Growing up on the reservation left Jake with a handful of close ties for which he yearns for terribly, yet was willing to sacrifice his own happiness if it meant making Renesmee happy and doing all of the right things for her throughout her childhood. Renesmee is now his cause in life and will stop at nothing to make sure that she is happy.

- - - overall history, Jacob was born beneath two elder twin sisters to Billy and Sarah Black. He was a happy child, though often subjected to the favored role of babydoll to his sisters when he was an infant. When he became a little older, Billy and Charlie introduced him to his childhood friend, Isabella Swan, who came to Forks every so often to visit with her father. Before, it was only Rachel and Rebecca whom Bella played with, but when he was old enough, the two quickly became peas in a pod.
Then Bella stopped visiting, and Jacob fell into the grooves of reservation life. He attended the local high school on the reservation and forged strong friendships with Embry Call and rumored relative, Quil Ateara. Jake never forgot about Isabella Swan, but life went on. Until he was roughly eleven years when his mother and beloved wife to Billy Black, Sarah, died from a brain tumor. From that time on, his family quickly shrank from 5 to 2: Rebecca had gotten married and moved to Hawaii, rumored for reasons to escape the grief that swept the reservation, and Rachel went off to college a year later in Alaska. Since then, Billy and Jake became ridiculously close, more so like best friends rather than blood relatives.
Five years later, Bella returned and Jacob's life seemed to have some ray of meaning again. During his freshman year (Bella being a junior), Jake developed a tiny crush on Bella, though didn't begin to express deep emotional feelings until the previous year, when Bella's serious boyfriend and bloodsucker, Edward Cullen, left her for reasons unknown. Bella opened up to him, Jacob picking up her pieces. All the while he poured his own soul into her and fell in love with her, tirelessly trying to prove to her that he could make her happy in ways that Edward never could. Sadly, about two months after Bella and Edward's break-up, Jacob came down with the flu- bug that was wandering around and something transformed his life forever.
At sixteen, the shape-shifter gene finally caught up with Jacob. He'd heard rumors of the Quilete tribesman having the ability to take on the shape of a wolf, also known enemies to The Cold Ones. After his metamorphosis, Jacob alienated himself from Bella, immersed in pack life and the new unbreakable bond that was created as a result of it. The then-Alpha, Sam Uley, had accepted the highest rank within the pack, Jacob then willingly sacrificing his birthright position as the Alpha of the pack, until two years later. Then, Edward came back.
For almost a year, Jacob fought and fought to prove himself better, but Bella only had eyes for Edward when she rescued him from Volterra. It seemed to Jake that Edward was always one step ahead of him, even whenever Jake felt that he had the upper hand. Though he would always love her, Jake admitted to her in silence that he would not tear her apart any further. Bella had made her choice, and Jacob did not play the leading man.
Then, Bella became pregnant with the bloodsucker's baby. As if Jacob didn't resent him enough already, the fact that she had a growing spawn inside of her did not aid his sore feelings in the least. Yet being Bella's best friend and best man came at a price: he couldn't keep himself away, no matter how hard that he tried. He only realized that after only a month of Bella's pregnancy, that his entire life's meaning was delivered to him in the form of a half-human, half-vampire child named Renesmee. Jake did not think of her in regards of sex or physical pull. Jacob had imprinted, meaning he was Renesmee's perfect match, but also that he only wanted her happiness, which is enough to satisfy him. He left his family and friends in La Push at Renesmee's request to join the Cullens in Ireland. Adaption into the local lycan pack has proven difficult to Jacob, and has sent him in low moods since the move. Anything to make Renesmee happy, he guesses.
