We're strange allies, with warring hearts. What wild-eyed beast you be. The space between, the wicked lies we tell. And hope to keep safe from the pain.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Glendalough Lake was a common place for people to swim, if you knew about it that is. Many people who came made sure to keep the land surrounding the lakes in good condition. There was no litter nor were there any carvings of names in the trees. The place remained magical like it once was many years ago. The lake offered many tales of ancient monks and runes, ones people often enjoyed telling on the sandy banks of the lakes. Alice for one often enjoyed visiting the place since the Cullen's moved in. It provided a relaxing atmosphere and was just simply a nice area to be on your own and think. A lot had been on Alice's mind lately, particularly involving Jasper. His thirst was getting stronger and stronger while his vegetarian life style was slowly slipping through his fingers. Alice felt helpless. All she could do was watch as he tried to remain in control. She knew he was fighting hard not only for him but the family. A battle against himself and the victor was starting to show through.
Alice walked down the path provided where many before her packed down to visibly guide the way. The earth beneath her feet barely moved from her graceful walk. Only the occasional stick she stepped on or rock she managed to kick with her foot sounded an audible noise that proved she existed. The sun was deciding to take a rest for the day. It lowered under behind the trees hugging them until it would finally decide to settle down. Though it was somewhat dark, Alice could see perfectly. In fact, the last apparent glow from the sun matched perfectly with Alice's golden eyes that peculiarly shined so brightly in the dusk. Alice decided she would walk the pace of what a mortal legs would carry them if they were to walk down the path. There was no visible humans to be seen so really she had nothing to worry about, or to hide. Alice just wanted to take the time to enjoy the evening for what remainder was left. For once to just walk the path and take in the beauty of the flowers that aligned it and the little noises that could be heard from the occasional animal retreating to their homes for the night.
The path became narrow before it finally came to a stop. The dirt was replaced with soft patches of grass mixed with random sand scattered about the shore. Alice slipped off her dark brown sandals. She wanted to feel the sand beneath her feet to let her tiny foot prints leave their mark in the sand. She walked closer to the water plopping the sandals in her hand down onto the shore. The waves of the lake were small and barely made any noise as the gently collided with strategically placed rocks. Alice sat down next to her sandals close enough to the water to have her feet meet the water. It was probably cold considering it was getting late but it couldn't have been any colder than Alice's own skin. In fact, she looked down into the water where her feet were. She looked ghostly white as the dark blue water washed over her toes.
Alice sat there with a small smile on her face as she looked out to the distance of the lake. It was truly relaxing at Glendalough. Some could say even therapeutic. She laid back against the sandy floor, not caring if any wounded up in her hair. Alice needed a break, well...Needed to calm her mind. She had been worrying to much lately that a needed breather was in order. An escape from the world she was in, to lose herself here. As she laid back Alice looked up toward the sky, fire flies were dancing above her head, the place really was enchanting. Soon it wasn't just the fire flies that was drawing her attention but a soft rustle in the woods. Alice turned her head in the direction it was coming, whatever it was didn't seem to bother with taking the path but was leading there own way. Alice squinted her eyes as if it made any difference for her to see, it was somewhat of a human habit what little human she had left in her.
The noise was getting gradually closer and on top of that louder. Alice still remained in her spot, though. She had no reason to move. She knew this wasn't hunting grounds, so it's not like she came here to feast on any animals that were living in the area. Alice wasn't committing any crimes, just enjoying some peace and quiet by the water. If it was a human that would emerge from the woods, she didn't mind to let them swim. The noise seemed to stop though just when it was about to come into the clearing. Alice lifted her head a little, perhaps the person was unsure of her being there. Was it someone she knew? Jasper maybe? ”Hello?” she said softly. She was not scared of whomever or whatever it was. Merely just curious why the thing decided to stop instead of coming into the clearing. Alice's eyes remained fixated on the area she could only guess someone was standing, watching her the same way she was watching them. Waiting for one to make a move.

Kieran couldn't stay in the house a second longer. There was something about being constrained lately to the home which he shared with the wolves which made him grouchier than normal. This was a big thing, considering Kieran was grouchy 99% of the time. Now, it seemed to be 100%. All day, everyday. Happy thoughts seemed to be little and barely comforting, especially in a house filled with testosterone and animal anger. He growled, low in his throat as he phased, listening to the snarling and arguing going on inside the small house which he occupied with the rest of the pack. From the sounds of it, Ian and Ewan were having another fight, one of the many they often partook in. Kieran tried to block them out, until he was in full wolf form in all the glory of it. His black fur looked as dull as the sky, and his equally as black eyes scanned around the area. He felt free, but pained by his wolf form, though, he had to admit he enjoyed it more than being a human. There was something about being in wolf form that was satisfying, more comfortable than being trapped in a tense and itchy human body. When he was phased, he turned, grabbing a small bundle of rolled up jeans in his mouth, which he begrudingly took should he need to phase back. He always begged to be free of fabrics that irritated his skin, and it was in wolf form that he felt the most comfortable. Because, after all, wolves didn't wear clothes. They were free from those sort of restraints, and it was something that humans should have envied. Though they didn't, because they didn't know. Shouts erupted from the louder from the house, and Kieran heard something shatter like a glass or a mirror. Kieran snarled louder than the smash, and all of a sudden, there was silence in the the house, and Kieran knew that they knew that Kieran was angry. He would punish them later, right now he just needed to get away from them. He growled lightly, and then poising himself he pushed away from the porch of the house, moving at quick speed, sprinting through their front yard, then into the forest that surronded their house. He felt a load lighter as soon as he had started running, letting his long wolf form stretch out and his lean wolf legs run and carry him as fast as they could. Trees whizzed past him, and Kieran felt leaves whipping at his fur as he ran, not really knowing where he was going or what he was going to do. But, he ran. Happy to be doing so.
Being alone was a simple pleasure for Kieran. He didn't mind it, in fact, he rather relished it. Being alone meant that he didn't have to be tense, he didn't have to worry about slipping up and trusting people, it was just him, free to do what he wanted and able to...in some respects, let himself go. He panted as he ran, not paying attention to the forest around him but being greatful for it anyway. It was nice to have something as beautiful as irish nature to make up for the monster that Kieran often felt. It was a beauty in his life that he thought he had lost when Grace died, but every now and then, it repaid him a visit. He ran for what seemed like forever, exploring parts of the forest that he'd never seen before, or seen but forgotten in his neglegance of the world. He ran until he felt as if he had seen all of ireland in the space of an hour, and while his body didn't ache from the running, he still felt mentally tired from his busy exploration. He had seen so much, and gotten back in touch with something that he had feared he lost. This was a big thing for Kieran, it was something he hadn't done in so long and it was the first thing he had done where he didn't think abbout the pack. he had run, had been alone and had enjoyed it more than any day in his whole entire life. He growled a little in contentment, and slowing to a gentle plod he beagn walking slowly around, elegantly placing one paw in front of the other. There was a difference in the way Kieran walked and the way other wolves did. He seemed to be more aware of his body as a wolf, more in touch than others seemed to be as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Other wolves seemed, while comfortable, slightly out of touch with their bodies. But not Kieran. he was most comfortable as a wolf, and most elegant.
It was now that Kieran started moving in a general direction which he was aware of. There was a place, where he would go sometimes after a run such as this, it was normally desserted and isolated, one of the best places to go to cool off and take some time out for himself. Glendalough Lake. He panted a little as he walked, moving slowly through the bushes towards the lake. The day was perfect. But, not quite. Kieran froze, locking his large jaw as a foul and familiar scent made its way toward him. It was sickly, sweet, and making his head pound like a drum. He could only hope the vampiric smell was from one that was moving away, and as he moved closer to the lake, his hopes were dashed. "Hello?" Kieran narrowed his eyes, gettting lower to the floor in a stance that made it look as if he were hunting another animal for dinner. He moved closer to the bushes that surronded the lake, and peering through with large black eyes, he tried to pin point the voice. There, frozen in movement on the beach was a Cullen. Alice, he believed her name to be. From afar, he examined her, somewhat unimpressed. He had never been close to a vampire unless he needed to be, and even then, he seemed to meet mostly with the males, to agree treaties and rules. From what people made it out to be, Vampires were beautiful, but Kieran himself could see nothing special about them. They were pale, of course, smooth skinned and flawless, but other than that...Kieran couldn't say that Alice was the most beautiful thing he had seen. Perhaps it was because her scent repulsed him, but generally, she didn't affect him. Growling he phased, moving into human form rather unhappily. The jeans which had been in his mouth were now at the ground beneath him, with some holes in them from where he had been holding them in his mouth. None the less, he bent down, pulling them on and letting them hang lose on his hips, leaving his upper body bare from irritating material. He groaned a little, moving swiftly from the bushes and pushing his hands into his pockets. He eyed Alice, furrowing his brow deeply before he simply said "Hello." And carried on, trying to block her out of his mind. He just wanted to enjoy the lake, by himself. Hopefully she would get the hint and leave, though judging by what Jacob had told him a few days ago, the cullens weren't the smartest of vampires.

We're strange allies, with warring hearts. What wild-eyed beast you be. The space between, the wicked lies we tell. And hope to keep safe from the pain.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Alice tilted her head slightly to the side as she watched the person emerge from the bushes. Their hands were stuffed deep within the pocket of their jeans, they were shirtless and shoes could not be found. When the person got close enough Alice recognized that it was Kieran, the alpha wolf of Jacobs pack. She didn't know him personally, the most she knew about him was of course from Jacob. Jacob and him seemed to butt heads most of the time and Jacob was seemingly having a hard time settling in with the pack. From Alice's understanding the guy was a real ass but Alice found fit to never judge a person from what they're told. She resolved in meeting the person first before passing judgement and even then, it was hard for Alice to dislike anyone unless they really gave her a reason to."Hello." he said simply and not caring. This didn't put Alice off, though. She smiled at him as she positioned herself so she was now resting on her elbows.
”Hey, Kieran. I'm Alice. I've heard a lot about you!” Alice said jubilantly. She would have extended her hand in greeting but she could tell just by his body language that he wasn't in the best of moods. He seemed distant, lonely in a way. "Jacob talks about you and the other wolves frequently. The ups and downs.” Alice gave a small laugh at the fact that Jacob mostly spoke of how bad of a time he was having and how hard Kieran was on him. ”But not only wolves deal with that.” Alice's smile faded a little at her last statement. For once it seemed the Cullen's were danger free, that they could finally live in peace. Who would of known that Jasper, her Jasper, would be the one they would worry about now. No, he wasn't going to kill them. None of them were in any immediate danger. It was the mere fact of watching him struggle. Fighting himself for everything he had worked so hard for over the years. Not only that, if the other side accomplished and prevailed then that meant the humans were in danger. An innocent would die.
Alice looked from Kieran to the lake. The light still shown on it slightly making the water seem to sparkle. ”It's beautiful.” she said softly as her gaze remained on the lake. After a few moments of simply just staring at natures glorious gift Alice had a sudden perk of attitude. She stood up from the spot she was sitting, brushing the sand off her back side which didn't serve any purpose for what she was going to do? ”Lets go. Alice said with a bright smile on her face as she looked at Kieran. He probably thought she was crazy. ”Lets go swimming!” Alice didn't wait for Kieran to give an answer. Alice was going to go in the water whether he agreed to or not.
Alice treaded at vampire speed into the water clothes and all. She dived in gracefully as if she was born to be in the giant body of water. It was like she wasn't vampire at all but a dolphin or perhaps a mermaid. She broke the surface coming back up. Not for air, no; she didn't need air after all. Alice looked from the water, to the shore kicking her little legs beneath her to remain in one spot. ”Come on!” She called to him, her voice ringing like a bell. ”Dogs love to swim.” Alice teased hoping it would either make him smile or maybe it would make him angry. If he wanted to get to her, he would have to go in the water and Alice's strategic move would be a success. It was time to see if Jacob was right about this Kieran fellow.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh god, Kieran felt himself tense as she spoke, her voice was light and almost tin like, as if she were made out of tin herself. Like a little tin solider. Except, this one wasn't a solider, it was a vampire. A little tin vampire. That looked an awful lot like a pixie. Her skin was flawless, more so when you were up close to her, and her hair only excentuated her pixie likeness. She was sort of pointy, like she could stab a person with her features. And yet, she wasn't unattractive like Kieran had initially thought. Though she still held no ranks in his own books. He preffered women more natural, more tanned than pale. More alive than undead. He almost phsycially shrunk away when she mentioned Jacob, as if the very idea of the boy repulsed him so much his body couldnt deal with it. ”Hey, Kieran. I'm Alice. I've heard a lot about you! Jacob talks about you and the other wolves frequently. The ups and downs.” Kieran frowned, missing whatever she said directly after that. There were two things there that sentence that unnerved him. Firstly, how the hell she knew his name. Kieran didn't make it a habit of socialising with vampires, and while gossip around town was about him quite a lot of the time, he didn't think somehow that a vampire had heard of him from town. And even if Jacob had been talking about him, which was the second unnerving and not to mention annoying thing about what she had said, how did she knew his name and his face went together? He could have been anyone of the wolves. Though, he supposed he had the alpha male aura as per usual, but it still didn't put him at ease. he knew vampires had gifts, gifts that scared the shit out of him, afterall, they were his enemies, and everytime an enemy got a one over on him it left Kieran that little bit more weaker. It didn't help him sleep at night know vampires could probably walk through walls or something like that. It was why, most of the time, he didn't sleep for more than 15 minutes. He was constant in his guarding. It made him question, what gift did she have? She didn't look like much of a threat, but her gift could have been her main weapon. He looked over her with gaurded eyes, noticing a hint of sadness on her face. He didn't feel sorry for her, only uncomfortable by her show of emotion. Which quickly changed to be once again, happy. Something Kieran didn't particularly enjoy.
"It's beautiful. Let's go!" He looked at her with questioning evil eyes, and it took her a while to realise he had no idea what she was talking about. So she smiled, a bright smile that made Kieran want to turn around and vomit from. "Let's go swimming!" She didn't hesitate, and as quickly as she had been there, she was gone, and ripples expanded in the water as she began swimming, fully clothed. Kieran stood on the lakes shore, looking out at her. Could vampires go mad? He was pretty sure that insanity could claim the lives and souls of his kind, but could a vampire go insane? If so, this girl was it, fully and completely. Kieran hadn't even said a word other than Hello, and she already wanted to go swimming? In his youth, Kieran would have jumped at the chance had the invitation been from a female wolf, but that was before Grace, and before he got older and more serious about the world. More serious about survival. What was stopping her from drawing him into the water, then pulling him down to drown him? Vampires might not have needed to breath, and could survive under water, but wolves...wolves needed air. They needed a lot of air actually to fill those great enormous lungs of theirs. He frowned a little, furrowing his brow deeply, he thought about it, then decided he would just turn back. He was in no mood to fight her today, and he was is no mood to deal with someone as insane as this girl Alice. He was about to shake his head and walk away, until he heard her light voice call out to him again from the water this time, grabbing his attention involuntarily. "Come on...dogs love to swim!" That made Kieran's hair on the back of his neck bristle, he growled a little, low in his throat and gave her one of those looks that, had he been a super hero, would have emmited acid of lasers from his eyes to incinerate her. But they didn't and instead he was just standing on the shore looking at her like he wanted her to die. Though...the wolf part in him did feel the want to swim. She was right, in a sense. He loved the water, and the way it felt. But he loved it when he was phased more than when he was a human. But Phasing would mean getting naked in front of her, and some things were just not for first time meetings.
"I am so going to regret this..." Hopefully she would too, then she would get the message that he didn't want to be bothered. Not now, not ever. He frowned, closing his eyes a little before moving back, then, taking a running start he ran into the water, before jumping and pulling himself into a diving position. He dissappeared under the water like a bullet, and under, he looked around, before darting up again. He took in air, gracefully of course, then looked at Alice. he had swam so there was at least a car's distance between them, if that was even something you could measure in. He frowned a little, paddling and staying a float. Unlike Alice, who looked about as heavy as a feather, he weighed a lot thanks to his muscles, and staying a float was precious, considering he couldn't breathe under water. He paused, then spoke, in his usual monotone and dark voice. "I could kill you you know." He wasn't going to just yet, or maybe at all, but he just wanted to state where she stood with him. She was his enemy. first and foremost. There was a silence, then circling her a little he decided to get some answers. He spoke, in a cold and a flat voice that was almost as evil sounding as he looked. He scanned over her, sizing her up. How easy would it be to kill her if he had too? And what would he say to explain it? He frowned a little, then paused, glaring from where he was in the water. She smiled at him, and he felt sick again. The only thing he was remotely pleased with was that the water seemed to dim her scent ever so slightly, but his headache still remained, hence the large distance. He could only hope she would stay where she was, but her persistant obvious attitude somehow made him think she wouldn't get the message. Vampires, they were stupid. "You said Jacob has told you about me. What exactly has he been saying?" He eyed her, expert in judging when someone was lying. If Jacob had mentioned anything about him, anything about grace that he had told him in that room not but a few days ago, there would be blood to pay, and he was pretty sure if Jacob had betrayed his trust and gone against his word, Kieran wouldn't just beat him, he would kill the boy a thousand times over until there was nothing left but bones and fur.

We're strange allies, with warring hearts. What wild-eyed beast you be. The space between, the wicked lies we tell. And hope to keep safe from the pain.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Kieran entered the body of water with a bigger splash than Alice had. He went under, disappearing beneath the surface before meeting the world above him several feet from Alice. A small frown fell on his face as he stared at her, water dripping from his hair which beaded and ran down his features. “I could kill you, you know.” His words seemed to flow out of his mouth, Alice wasn't sure if he had really even given them a thought. Alice stared back at Kieran with a small understanding smile. ”Perhaps” She voiced simply, her arms outstretching into the water as she paddled in place. ”But you won't” Alice's smile grew larger as she stated her last sentence in a 'matter of fact' tone. Alice didn't doubt his strength, he could very well kill her if he really wanted to and she would definitely put up a fight; if it came to those circumstances. Alice knew, though, that it wouldn't. Sure, Kieran was a bit put off by her but it wasn't enough to lash out and kill her especially when he had no reason to.
There was a silence between the two and for a moment the only thing that could be heard was a soft hoot of an owl and the water moving against them. Kieran was the one that broke the silence surprisingly. He circled Alice as if he was a hawk getting ready to swoop down and claim its prey. Alice remained in place, not scared but rather amused. So Jacob was a bit right about one thing, this guy thought he was a hot shot or something. Alice muffled a laugh. Kieran stopped playing ring around the rosie and stopped in the water in front of her. He spoke again, this time his tone was flat; as if he didn't have a care in the world. Was he warning her? She had done nothing to him and here he was already sizing her up as if she was his arch enemy. Alice couldn't help but feel a bit bad for him. He was so..stubborn, grouchy. You said Jacob has told you about me. What exactly has he been saying?” He eyed her as he awaited an answer.
Alice began to swim in no particular direction at all. Sometimes she would swim to the left, forward, to the right then back again. It wasn't until she was closer to him that she answered his question. ”Nothing too spectacular really.” She raised a brow at him ”He says you're not Suzie sunshine and from what I am seeing he is right about that.” Alice gave another laugh, this one more hearty. ”He respects you, though. He says you don't do anything unless you fully know the consequences. You think stuff over and do what is best for your pack. You don't start trouble, where it is not needed.” She paused squinting her eyes a bit at him as if she could see right through him. ”And that is why I know you wouldn't do it.” Alice beamed at him happily and now she was the one that was swimming in circles around Kieran. Not to size him up simply out of amusement. ”Why you wouldn't kill me that is.” Alice nodded her head at him to further explain.
”He says you need to stop being such an ass, though.” Alice now began to break out in a fit of giggles. ”Which he is probably right” Alice stated before she went under the water much like Kieran had, popping up in another spot. ”You don't even know me and I saw the way you reacted to my appearance. I know I smell to you. You don't smell that good to me either but that's not preventing me from being friendly.” Alice had heard it so many times from Jacob, how much the vamps stunk and how he had to go outside at times to give his nostrils a break. ”I think you should take the chance to meet me before concluding that you don't like me. Who knows, you might actually like me.” Alice smirked at him. It was one thing to not like someone but it was another to not like them for no reason at all. Sure, other vampires could have done something to Kieran that he didn't like but not all vampires were the same. Much like how all wolves weren't the same. If Kieran took the time to know Alice and it resulted in him not liking her then fine. There was really nothing she could do about it and she would leave him be.

A conversation with alice, no matter how broken up and no matter how many pauses there were going to be between sentences, all seemed to be blended into one huge mess. She literally had the personality like a ball of fluff and sunshine, and it made Kieran feel at the pinicule of his uncomfort. Not to mention, angry and grouchy with everything she said about jacob. ”Nothing too spectacular really. He says you're not Suzie sunshine and from what I am seeing he is right about that.” She laughed, and flexing his fist a little he tried to keep from vomiting. It wasn't that he was cruel and unhappy, but her tiny voice and her melodic laugh reminded him of some evil child of the corn, and automatically he found himself put right off her. ”He respects you, though. He says you don't do anything unless you fully know the consequences. You think stuff over and do what is best for your pack. You don't start trouble, where it is not needed. And that is why I know you wouldn't do it.” There was a little paused then, and Kieran noted a handful of things. One, that he needed to beat Jacob later for everything. It didn't matter if he was a friend of the cullens or that the cullen girl was his imprintee, pack issues, were pack issues. And by shooting his big fat mouth off to the bloodsuckers, he was highlighting any weaknesses the wolves might have had, not that they had many. It was frustrating that he was so oblivious to how stupid he was being by opening up the vampires, and Kieran felt the need to beat some common sense into him since he lacked such a large quantity of it. Secondly, he noted that Alice was entirely right, much to his dismay. He wasn't going to kill her, and nor had he ever really planned too, he was just stating that if he wanted too, he could have. He could have reached out, and with one swipe of his giant wolf paw, he could have knocked that fuzzy brained little head of hers clean off her shoulders. But he didn't, because if he did that could cause a number of problems for his pack, and that he just wasn't going to risk. Thirdly, and finally, he noted that Alice seemed too relaxed with him to make him feel comfortable. Why wasn't she being stand offish like he was to her? Why wasn't she bearing her teeth in protection, why wasn't see paranoid everytime he moved around her, fearful of what he might do? It boggled his mind, and he wasn't entirely sure that she was all there in the brain department. Perhaps, she wasn't insane, just an idiot. Who knew.
Kieran was about to open his mouth and talk when she interjected again, making his face drop and his eyes narrow. He wandered for a moment, if she ever stopped talking? Most likely not, because she seemed like a speed boat to him when she spoke. But then, maybe he had grown so accustomed to monosyllabic conversations with his own kind, that normal conversation was abnormal to him. Not that there was anything normal with a vampire having a conversation with a wolf. ”He says you need to stop being such an ass, though. Which he is probably right” Alice began to giggle, and that solidified it for Kieran. He would most definatly be spending his night kicking seven shades of shit out of Jacob Black for all that he had said. It was fair do's really, kierans theory on life was that if you talk about your own, then you have to be man enough to accept the consequences. And the consequences at hand were not going to be pretty. All he could say is that jacob should be extremely thankful that he healed fast, though kieran was going to make it a slower process. meaning black and black, instead of black and blue. He was going to go to town on him. But now, he turned his attention back to alice, and once more he was going to interject. And once more, she stopped him, carrying on with her speech. His eyes narrowed once more even further this time, until they were basically just slits now with black peering out from underneath them. he was pretty sure that had his life been a cartoon, then a large sweat drop would have appeared on the side of his head by now. Exassperated, he let her continue, an extremely generous move for someone like kieran. ”You don't even know me and I saw the way you reacted to my appearance. I know I smell to you. You don't smell that good to me either but that's not preventing me from being friendly. I think you should take the chance to meet me before concluding that you don't like me. Who knows, you might actually like me.” After she had fniished, Kieran left a moments silence. Not just because he wanted to leave room for her to continue if she was going to, which it was a surprise that she didn't, but also so he himself could take in the ridiculous things she had just said. Did she really believe for a second that he could actually act like a friend with her? He frowned a little, then scoffed lightly. Alice, he had to say; touche. She had raised some very complex facts about Kieran, and while he would never admit it, she had hit the nail right on the head when it came to his personality.
"Firstly, I don't think you can begin to even comprehend how badly you smell to me. I'm extremely sensitive and suseptible to the way you smell." It was true, Unlike most wolves, he seemed to be so extremely sensitive to the smell of a vampire, that unless he was being pumped with the adrenalin of battle or fighting, then he found it near on impossible to spend large amounts of time with them. His head began to pound and he often found himself phasing in an out of wolf form in the confusion it caused. He had appealed on several occasions to older wolves who had been around longer than Kieran to tell him exactly why this was, yet, none of them had ever been able to pinpoint a reason, only that it was part of who Kieran was, he he should learn to stop dwelling and just accept it. After all, did he intend to spend lots of time with vampires unless he was fighting them? kieran had replied each time, no, he did not intend to. And the old wolves had said that that was their point. "I mean, it's nothing personal, but im so sensitive to the smell it's like me having a nut allergy and you then proceeding to shove peanuts down my throat. It's not pleasant, and I don't like it. So automatically I'm going be off with you." He frowned a little, feeling said affects on his head. Though, maybe it was less her smell and more her voice now that was givnig him a headache. He paused for a moment, then sighed a little in defeat. "Ok then, if you really think you can change my mind, give it a try. Though, let's make this fair." He paused again, and rolling his eyes he cocked an eyebrow. He didn't believe he was really about to engage in willing conversation, with a vampire, in the middle of a lake, on his only afternoon off from work. he looekd around a little. as long as no one saw him, it would be fine. Turning his attention back to alice, he moved a little closer, closing some of the great distance between them. "If we're going to be civil, you have to at least let me get a word in edgeways." He narrowed his eyes seriously at her for a moment, then shaking his body a little as if he were preparing for a long swim, he nodded, fixing her with his best challenging look. "Ok, let's make conversation." To Kieran, that was probably the most normal way to go about starting a conversation, and for a moment, he was perplexed when she didn't start immeadiatly talking. He sighed a little in exassperation. She chose now to go all quiet on him? Cocking an eyebrow, he spoke a little, unsure and out of his social comfort zone as he tried, once more, to make conversation. "So...er....do you come here often?" Again, if his life were a cartoon, a sweat drop would appear, though he imagined it would be on alice this time, due to his lame conversation skills. Maybe he did need a little more practice...He didn't really just how bad he was, until now.

We're strange allies, with warring hearts. What wild-eyed beast you be. The space between, the wicked lies we tell. And hope to keep safe from the pain.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Alice ignored Kieran's bigoted words about her stench that he found justified to point out once more. She listened intently as he moved closer to her in the water "If we're going to be civil, you have to at least let me get a word in edgeways." His eyes narrowed his eyes in a challenging manner. "Ok, let's make conversation." Alice stared at Kieran as if to make sure he was absolutely serious. This was her reasoning of not suddenly engaging in conversation. Jacob could have missed out on a part, maybe. The part where Kieran had some odd type sense of humor? She would see if Kieran intended on being civil with her. In a way, Alice was determined to prove to him that they could indeed be friends. Maybe not the best of friends but at least some what hospitable toward one another. He really didn't seem like such a horrible guy. Alice was sure that once they got talking that he would gradually come out of his shell and maybe even crack a smile. Alice waited. If this was going to happen then she was going to remain silent until he initiated conversation with her. "So...er....do you come here often?" Alice gave an authentic lovely smile. She could tell he felt a little awkward, perhaps out of place.
”Quite often”She responded, glancing around the lake. The sun was being replaced with a dark purple as its fiery glow subsided. A light breeze could be felt now which of course didn't bother Alice at all. ”I like to come here to think. To get my visions straight. This place has this certain quality about it that other places don't seem to have...” Alice peered into the water at her reflection. ”Magical is the word I suppose. There is a lot of history here and I don't know. I like to come here and sit and just try and picture how it was back when the monks were here. Before my time.” She looked up from the water at Kieran in which her eyes widened a bit ”Going on again.” Alice chuckled as she paddled in the water ”So an Irish wolf. What do you usually do in Ireland? Are Irish wolves any different from any other wolf besides the obvious location?” Alice was truly curious. The only wolves she knew of were the ones back in Forks. They were marvelous and loyal to the vampires. Able to set their differences aside and help them in the time of need.
Alice was the first one out of The Cullen's to really warm up to Jacob. When Edward and Bella were giving her the biggest headache of her un-dead life her and Jacob had a small chat. He intrigued her during that conversation. How the wolves could be so different yet alike in many ways. One way being they were the 'monsters' in the world and two, they both had to stay hidden. How the humans couldn't know of them and if they did then they would be in big trouble.
Alice looked from Kieran quickly making a light groaning noise. She stared blankly out at the woods opposite them at the lake. Kieran's body slowly became a blur and in place Alice began to see figures form in her vision. It was Aisling Galloway. The expression on her face felt like it pierced Alice, cutting her into tiny pieces. Her eyes glowed red like fire, ready to burn and devour whoever came in her path. She was accompanied by another. Golden curly hair, striking beautiful features. Jasper was with her but why? He looked happy...He smiled at her and she too seemed joyful. They both looked at each other as if they knew some sort of secret that only the two shared. A pang of frustration swept through her as she continued to watch but the vision that was now becoming blurry. It had been like this for the last couple of days. Whenever she would have a vision they wouldn't last long. The went just as quickly as they came but this was the first with Aisling and Jasper, together.
Alice snapped her gaze away from the trees. She felt like she had just been slapped across the face. Why was Jasper smiling at her like that? He barely smiled at anyone. Usually those smiles were only brought out by Alice and she would even make him laugh, very few could do that. Why did she feel somewhat betrayed by this vision? Alice looked up at Kieran shaken from what she had just seen. She wasn't even sure if she should say anything about what she saw. He would probably just laugh at her, call her crazy and give up on the whole 'getting to know each other' mission. ”Sorry about that” She whispered, still trying to make sense of why Jasper would be with Aisling. He wouldn't just go out with her for a stroll for no apparent reason...Sure the Galloway's were friends of the family but the way she was looking at him; it scared Alice. She looked so evil, greedy. She wanted Jasper.

* forgot to change accounts. I'm sure you won't mind darrling! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was something so wrong with this picture. A wolf and a vampire, making some form of civil conversation without any ulterior motives at hand. None that could be seen anyway. It unnerved Kieran slightly, but he tried to push that feeling aside, so he could focus on the way Alice was challenging him. he wasn't one to be so easily challenged, and he definatly wasnt to fail at a challenge. Alice spoke, in answer to his question, and he focused on every word she said, for informations sake. She was bound to say something that would give off something about her, about her ways of a vampire, and Kieran was strangely keen to be clued up on just what his enemies ways were. If she was an enemy that was. ”Quite often, I like to come here to think. To get my visions straight. This place has this certain quality about it that other places don't seem to have...” As alice peered into the water a little, Kieran noted what she had said. Visions? Visions could only mean one thing, that meant seeing what was going to happen. So she could see the future? Kieran felt a little dubious now, sort of like he had suddenly been thrust into an enclosed space. She could see the future, so did that mean she could see his? He felt a little invaded, he didn't want anyone to know his future, he didn't even want to know himself. There was something about knowing the future that was truly and utterly unnatural, even for a vampire. I was a way of intruding on fate, and that wasn't something Kieran was seduced by. Fate was something even a wolf didn't mess with, and if they did, bad things happened. Like death; he thought of grace and how she had felt when she was cold and dead in his arms in the morturary. Bitterness and fear ripped through him, and he frowned slightly, not because of alice, but because of her gift. If thats what she wanted to call it. He looked up, thinking what she had said previously in his head as she spoke now, and he really wasn't paying any real attention. ”Magical is the word I suppose. There is a lot of history here and I don't know. I like to come here and sit and just try and picture how it was back when the monks were here. Before my time.”
Ever the keen historian, Kieran had read up on this specific part of ireland times and times before. He let a small nod of understanding out towards her, then clearing his throat a little, he tried to offer some input into the conversation. "Not many people tend to visit the lake, trust me, as a mountain guide I know these things. if anything, people tend to avoid it." he rolled his eyes a little, dazzled by the stupidity of people. "People think the woods surronding it are haunted, though, I think we both know it's not the ghosts they need to be afraid of." He gave alice a short look, not saying anything out loud but not really needing too. He nodded a little, then offering a kieran sort of look at reassurance, he nodded again. Then he heard alice give a small chuckle, and then she proceeded to talk once more. ”So an Irish wolf. What do you usually do in Ireland? Are Irish wolves any different from any other wolf besides the obvious location?” Kieran raised an eyebrow, and shrugging his shoulders a little he continued to paddle himself above the water in smooth and languid motions that would put any gymnast to shame. He was so long limbed that anything he did seemed to be, well, in short; graceful. He spoke, in a sort of flat voice. "We're a little different from most wolves, we tend to socialise with the human public more, and we keep our pack's relitavily small. You'll never see an irish pack with more than five members in it." He paused for a moment, thinking and then speaking once more, relating the conversation to her lightly, so she was somewhat involved rather than just listening to him like he found himself doing to her when she spoke. "It's why it's so hard for us to accept Jacob. It makes our pack bigger, and we need a certain amount of isolation and smallness to keep ourselves from being conspicious to the public." The last thing he wanted as the alpha to have an uprising of humans on his hands. He then, laughed very lightly, bitterly, and shortly. "I mean, if you haven't noticed, this is total farming country in some parts. It doesn't go down well with the farming public if someone is a wolf." He gave a short sigh, then shrugged his shoulders again. "Other than that, there isn't much difference between us and other packs, other than our unshakeable loyalty and the fact that there are only about...four of our kind of packs." He stopped then, letting her know a bit about them without knowing everything about them. It was enough information to keep her satisfied, but also enough information to keep her from knowing every single detail about them.
He was going to start a new subject of conversation, getting slowly into the idea of actually have a conversation when she made a groaning sound, and looked away from him. For a moment, he thought he'd said something to offend her, which in a way annoyed him. She had after all, been offensive to him previously. He was about to question her angrily, before he noticed that her gaze was somewhat fixed on something in the forest. he leant forward, taking a look, and cocking an eyebrow he could see nothing. She stared for a moment longer, then, seemignly she pulled herself from the daydream. He cocked an eyebrow, looking at her somewhat quizically. Then, she spoke, in a soft whisper that sounded so pained and so different the upbeat way she had been speaking previously that he was shocked beyond belief. Though his flat face didn't seem to show it. ”Sorry about that” He frowned a little, then softening his features he looked around. he'd seen that look before, numerous times on Jacobs face and once on his own. It was the look a person got when love was hurting them. At first, it seemed wrong that a vampire could love, but slowly he felt himself open to the idea. she was after all...capable. He sighed slightly, and swam closer to her. He offered her a friendly sort of voice, though it wasn't so much as friendly as it was awkward. "Hey er...look, don't get weird on me alice. I er, don't think I can get through that as much as I can through this conversation." He cleared his throat a little, then offered her a slight smile, crooked and unusual on his face, to let her know he was only, in his own way, joking. There was a moments silence, and he found himself speaking once more. "Is that what happens when you have a vision? You just start staring into space like..." he imitated her staring off into space. Then smiling that crooked smile ocne more, he turned back to her again. "Does it hurt?"
